NOT MUCH IS HAPPENING...

we haven't been doing too much as of late.  corey played a show with another band the other day.  that was pretty cool.  kevin's old band is playing their 1st show in for fucking ever tonite but i don't even think he's been playing with them.  my other band has been playing a bit too.  next year we're gonna have some new shirts and other new merch, hopefully.  then we need to get into the studio to record a new full length which should be coming out on portland's STANKHOUSE RECORDS.  and we're long overdue for a tour, so that should be happening in the early-ish months of next year as well.  2012 is going to be a good year.  we've got to record all of our best material and bury it in a time capsule before december 21st so future civilizations can have their minds broken into dust particles.  yeah, that's right.

Honduran, “Live Fast, Die You”
Honduran’s self-titled 7-inch got a ridiculously mean review in a recent issue of Maximumrocknroll. Let’s just say the words “shitty” and “bullshit” were used twice in a single sentence. These local grinders didn’t seem too phased--a pic of said spilled ink was proudly posted to Honduran’s Facebook wall--which is good, because the record in question is a raw and brutal wonder. Standout track “Live Fast, Die You” (that’s the way Honduran’s Bandcamp page spells it) is a beast: as fairly straightforward powerviolence gives way to spazzy grind, drummer Kevin miraculously grows four bonus limbs and goes to town on his kit. It’s an unrelenting display of punk extremity, a two-minute fireworks display that I can’t get enough of. Hey, even MRR whiffs once in a while.

"Never been a big fan of grindcore/powerviolence, but I got a 7" in the mail from a band out of Portland, Oregon called Honduran, and while I still am not a huge fan of the genre as a whole, I am finding that I like Honduran quite a bit. They play fast and furious, sometimes slowing down ever-so-temporarily, with guttural, harsh vocals at times accented with higher-pitched shrieks and yells. It's nothing groundbreaking, but the songs are well-crafted and performed well, making this 7" an overall solid release. 4 songs, totaling just over 7 minutes. we're hitting the road 8/26-8/28 for 3 badass shows with badass bands.  8/26 is a house show with caulfied, 8/27 is with final draft, aputasos, stapled shut, goner and hoy pinoy, 8/28 is a house show with burials and stoneburner.  we'll have the new 7" and hopefully some new shirts.  we'll also be playing plan b in pdx on 8/23 with burials for their tour kickoff along with stoneburner and RTTU.

CARLOS BENEFIT

our friend jamie's dog, carlos, just had major neck surgery and the bill is in the thousands.  she just moved to pdx and needs a little help.  so help her broke ass out, portland!   her friends have really come thru for her, so there will be a keg and some booze available for a bit of donation $$$.  and carlos is fine.  his surgery went well and he's recovering.  sadly, he won't be able to attend the benefit.  come, hang out and do what pdx does best...help out its friends...and get wasted en masse.

we've put up our entire first album "language & violence" and our whole side of the split 7" with VIOLENCE OF HUMANITY for free download thru our BANDCAMP page.  we still have a few copies of the L&V CD for sale, if you're interested.  and the VOH split is still available on random colored vinyl OR you can get a cassette version from us or END THEORY RECORDS.  for the nerds, these tracks were recorded in 1 day back in april of 2009 with mike & mark at smegma in pdx and mastered by dan at mammoth sound.  you can download individual tracks or the whole damn thing.  also, check out the 2 songs we have up (for free DL as well) from our upcoming 4 song S/T 7".  we'll most likely put the other 2 tracks up for free once the records are done.  enjoy!

R.I.P. stacy schrag

you'll be missed stacy.  an amazing photographer and one of the most intense performers i've ever seen.  no matter what you thought of stacy's bands, he fucking FELT what he was doing every second of every song.  by far one of the most aggressive & brutal musicians i've known. the last time i saw him he was fucking stoked on his new project, WORTHLESS EATERS.  unfortunately, i never got to see them.  but please check out his band BLUEPRINT FOR DISASTER if you haven't already.
